Float trip: IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!!

This is going to be a hoot!!!]
[August 15-17 to Ericson Nebraska and the Cedar river. For a look at what this is all about check out www.get-tanked.com]
Ride leader is Krista Abernethy. krista@ellison-auxier.com or krista_a@sbcglobal.net

We will be “tanking” down Cedar river in Ericson, NE. This is similar to canoeing but instead you will be sitting on a picnic table that is bolted down inside of a stock tank. We have talked to many people that have done this before and everyone says it’s a blast. Besides, it’s time to try something new! The float trip will be August 15th-17th with one group leaving St. Joe in the morning and another later that afternoon for those that have to work. It is about a five hour ride up to Ericson, NE.

You have to have your name and deposit money for the tanks to Travis or Krista NO LATER THAN THE JULY 6Th H.O.G. MEETING. The tanks are $60 each and hold up to 6 people( a 3 sided picnic table). The deposit is $30 per tank so decide who you want to get tanked with and get your money in. You can e-mail Travis or Krista to make arrangements to get your money in or bring it to the June or July meeting. There will be no exceptions after July 6th because the guy holding our spot will release it after that. That is not to say you can’t go but you will be on your own to find tanks and accommodations. after July 6th.

Ericson is a very small town with very few amenities. They have a bank but no ATM and many places do not take credit cards so take cash with you. The hotel we have booked for the 15th and 16th has a total of 6 rooms and it is the largest hotel in town. Therefore you will have to “buddy up” and have at least 4 people to a room. The hotel rooms are $40 per night including tax. They take cash and check only.

Krista has arranged for the proprietor of the tanking trips will pick us up at the hotel and bring us back. You are allowed anything but glass on the river so bring coolers and sunscreen.

The entire hotel is reserved in Krista’s name. They don’t take deposits so there is no need to call and get your own rooms. Get your name to Travis or Krista by July 6th to hold a room. You must have you tank deposit in at the same time.

Camping is also available for $5 per night for a tent:

Lake Ericson primitive campground: 308-728-3132
